Euro Synthetic Oils - About Canton CM Spin- On Oil Filters

Euro Synthetic Oils searched for a Racing Oil Filter Line for our Website. After a great deal of research, we have selected the Canton Spin-ON Oil Filter Line.
We searched for oil filters with the following attributes:
1) Oil filters that flow a significant amount of oil, measured in gallons per minute (GPM). Oil filters that that filter well, but not at the expense of proper oil flow are not proper for high performance or racing engines; or, street vehicles and their engines. Oil flow is especially important when the engine is being raced or run hard, using high viscosity oils, or very importantly, at start-up. We worried that many of today's top oil filters (in terms of filtering) are often-times running with opened bypass valves under the aforementioned conditions. When these bypass valves are open, the oil is moving through the engine unfiltered.
(2) Oil filters that are efficient at relatively low micron measurements. An oil filter should be capable of filtering down to at least 15-20 microns to keep the oil, and thus engine, free of large potentially damaging particles. CM oils filters - filter down to 8 microns and still retain excellent flow characteristics.
(3) We desired oil filters that would remain effective beyond the typical 3,000-4,000 mile oil change intervals. Almost, by definition, this implies an oil filter with synthetic filter media with a large "capture" volume, as well as a filter media that would last for extended oil change intervals. CM oil filters can withstand the rigors of 10,000 (4 inch filters) mile oil change intervals and 6 inch filter up to 20,000 miles.
(4) Finally, we wanted oil filters that would could withstand the rigors of racing and high performance driving that may include extreme fuel dilution, including exotic fuel dilution such as alcohol and "nitro" (nitromethane). Also, the oil filter must be able to withstand the extreme pressures of racing and high performance driving while maintaining good oil flow and filtration without the "can popping"!! What we have just described is the CANTON SPIN-ON RACING OIL FILTER LINE
These CM Spin-On Oil Filters can handle a continuous high flow of oil while filtering out small particles far more effectively than conventional filters--all the way down to 8 microns! With their special SYNTHETIC DEPTH FILTRATION DESIGN, oil flows through millions of intertwined passages and any contaminants are caught within the filter element. The flow capabilities of the CM element is far beyond what's required by any automotive application. This long-lasting filter is perfect for your high-revving engine. Replaces most spin-on filters.
These Cm Spin-On Filters were developed to better protect expensive racing engines. Filters were needed that would handle a continuous high flow of oil while filtering out small particles. The flow should not be restrictive even when the filter is partially contaminated and ALL OF THE OIL SHOULD BE FILTERED ALL OF THE TIME. The element should not be affected by moisture which erodes paper elements, and it should withstand pressure surges without collapsing or rupturing. The CM filter element meets these requirements and overcome the shortcomings of conventional filters. In the years since their development, CM Oil Filters have proven themselves in NASCAR, SCCA, IMCA, IRL, and NHRA racing and on countless street miles.
Conventional spin on filters have an element made from porous material (usually paper) which catches contaminates on its surface. The flow limitations of this design require a compromise between large pores for more flow, which also lets bigger particles through all the time or a bypass valve which lets unfiltered oil during times of high or thick oil flow. When designing the CM filter this compromise was eliminated by going to depth filtration, where oil flows through millions of intertwined passages and contaminates are caught within the filter element. The flow characteristics of this design allows for finer filtration with greater flow without the need for a bypass valve. The synthetic fiber element material which is moisture resistant is sandwiched between two steel cages for surge protection.
CM filters out particles down to 8 microns, half the size of what the average spin-on filter does and has a flow rate even when contaminated, that is far greater than that required by any automotive application. Synthetic depth filtration extends filter element life because it can catch far more contaminates without restricting flow. Because of its longevity CM filters are a natural match for use with the longer lasting synthetic oils.
These CM spin-on oil filters are made of “tough” billet aluminum. They are offered for both the 2- 5/8" and the 4-5/8" tall filter filter elements with thread and o-ring combinations that fit most engines. These machined aluminum housings will last the life of your car.
